The Wichita Falls Nighthawks have announced the re-signing of one of their best playmakers from last season.
Wide receiver and kickoff returner, Troy Evans, has signed a contract to remain with the Nighthawks for the 2017 season.
Evans (5'9, 185, Marshall University) played 13 games last season, catching 58 passes for 625 yards and 17 total touchdowns (3 rushing). He was also a threat in the return game, returning 34 kicks for 610 yards (17.9 average) and one game-winning return touchdown with seconds left in the fourth quarter in a game against the Cedar Rapids Titans. Evans finished 7th in the IFL in all-purpose yards with 1,258.
"Troy is one of the most feared playmakers in the IFL; he has the ability to take it to the house every time he touches the ball," said Head Coach Billy Back. "He has an amazing work ethic, fits in with our offensive scheme and hates losing more than anything. We are excited to get him in here from the start of camp this season."
