The Nighthawks have named Devin Johnson defensive backs and strength coach.
Devin comes to the Wichita Falls Nighthawks being no stranger to the area. Devin was a part of the 2016 training camp roster where a leg injury cut his season short. While rehabbing after his surgery he stayed and worked with Coach Cooke and the defense helping the secondary on film break down and game plan.
Prior to 2016 Devin played for the San Angelo Bandits of the LSFL where he won the championship in 2014. Devin also has been a key piece to the Oklahoma Thunder semi pro football team's success, winning a National Championship this past season.
"We are excited to get DJ in here to mold and and teach our defensive backs the indoor game as well as be in charge of our strength program, so we can fully maintain strength throughout the long IFL season," said Coach Back. "He was a smart player on the field and that will translate well to the coaching and teaching part of the game."
Devin attended TCU from 2008-2011. He played in 18 games while recording his first solo tackle vs. Boise State in the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl in 2009.
