Storm Re-Sign All-IFL Linebacker

Sioux Falls, SD – The Sioux Falls Storm are excited to announce the signings of linebackers Elijah Fields and Julian Gener for the 2017 season. 

Fields (6'2, 215) will be returning for his fourth season in the Indoor Football League (IFL). Elijah accounted for 108 tackles, 67 solo, 9.5 tackles for loss, three interceptions and nine pass breakups during the 2016 season. Fields is a three-time IFL Second Team All-IFL honoree. The explosive defensive back is a University of Pittsburgh Alum, where he was a two-year letter winner. 

Gener (5'11, 220) spent the 2016 season with the Ottawa Redblacks of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Julian played collegiately at the University of Hawaii and led the team in both total tackles (95) and solo tackles (62) and ranked second with 13.0 tackles for loss and had 2.5 sacks during his senior season. Julian earned the Hawaii Defensive Player of the Year Award and received All-Mountain West Honorable Mention honors as a senior.

"Elijah is a very dynamic player. He brings a lot of energy and has that tenacity we look for in his position," said Tyler Pederson, the Sioux Falls Storm's General Manager. "Julian had a very successful college career, we are excited to see what he brings to the Storm."
