Wichita Falls, TX - The Montreal Alouettes of the Canadian Football League have signed Toni Pulu, defensive lineman from the Wichita Falls Nighthawks.
Pulu (6'4, 285, Texas A&M University-Commerce) played in all four games for the Nighthawks this year. Proving to be an anchor to the defensive front, Pulu recorded 7 tackles (3.5 for loss), 1 sack, and a blocked field goal.
Prior to joining the Nighthawks, Pulu earned First Team All-Lone State Conference while at Texas A&M University-Commerce. As a senior, he registered 60 tackles and 3 sacks.
"This is why we are here, to give players a platform to advance their career by working on their craft" said Nighthawks Head Coach, Billy Back. "It's a double-edged sword because he's a great player on and off the field that we'll miss, but it's also exactly why he came here, for the opportunity to get exposure. Our goal is to advance players, and there's no better state to get noticed in than Texas with a top tier organization. There will be more to come in the coming weeks as well."
In a battle of the two remaining unbeaten teams thus far in the 2017 IFL season, the Nighthawks (4-0) will travel to take on the Sioux Falls Storm (4-0) in Week 6.
