Storm Stay Undefeated, Take Down Titans 46-21

The Sioux Falls Storm defeated the Cedar Rapids Titans on Saturday, April 8 in a Week 8 contest with a final score of 46-21

Sioux Falls jumped out to an early 9-0 lead after Justin Syrovatka went a perfect three for three on field goals. The Storm would score back-to-back touchdowns to start the second quarter. Melvin German would haul in a pass from Lorenzo Brown and then Chris Baker recovered a fumble in the end zone, extending the Storm?s lead 23-0. Cedar Rapids quickly answered after Brion Carnes and Marcus Barnett would connect, cutting the lead to 23-7. Lorenzo Brown charged into the end zone to increase the Storm?s lead to 30-7. Cedar Rapids would score after Brion Carnes connected with Tre' Parmalee to close the gap to 30-15 after a successful two-point conversion.
Justin Syrovatka kicked a successful 14-yard field goal before the half would expire with the Storm leading 33-15.
Justin Syrovatka put the Storm up early in the third quarter after putting a 30-yard field through the uprights, stretching the Storm?s lead to 36-15. Lorenzo Brown would then end the third quarter with a score of 43-15 after a 13-yard rushing touchdown.
To start the fourth quarter, Justin Syrovatka booted another one through the uprights to widen the gap 46-21. The Titans answered back after Julian Hayes reeled in a three-yard pass from Brion Carnes to end the game with a score of 46-21.
Storm quarterback Lorenzo Brown completed 7-of-22 pass attempts for 93 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also added seven rush attempts for 24 yards on the ground with two scores. Robbie Rouse tallied 15 rush attempts for 74 yards. Melvin German led the Storm receiving effort as he hauled in four receptions for 64 yards and one touchdown. Defensively, Tyler Knight led the Storm with five total tackles, four solo and one tackle for loss. Elijah Fields and Matt Hermanson each recorded interceptions.

The Sioux Falls Storm improves to 6-0 while the Cedar Rapids Titans falls to 1-6. On Saturday, April 15th, Sioux Falls will face the Green Bay Blizzard at home for a 7:05 PM kickoff.
