The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 8 of the 2017 IFL season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Cody Sokol (QB, Arizona Rattlers)
After a tough start to their season and their IFL tenure, the Arizona Rattler have rebounded winning three of their last four games. Under the leadership of new QB Cody Sokol, the Rattlers edged the first-place Nebraska Danger 39-36 in Week 8. Down by one point with 3:26 remaining in the fourth quarter, Sokol (6'2,205, Louisiana Tech) led the Rattlers on eight play, 29 yard drive that consumed all the remaining time and culminated in a game-winning FG from K Sawyer Petre. Sokol provided clutch plays on the final drive as he connected with WR Anthony Amos on a key fourth down conversion. Sokol finished the game completing 17 of 30 passes for 165 yards and four passing touchdowns. He also added nine rushes for 33 yards. The Arizona Rattlers take on the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles in Week 9.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Javicz Jones (LB, Iowa Barnstormers)
The Iowa Barnstormers slipped by the Green Bay Blizzard 27-26 in Week 8 and have quietly won four of their last five games. After allowing 70 point against Sioux Falls, Iowa has solidified their defense and allowed less than 30 points in back-to-back games. The leader of the defensive emergence is LB Javicz Jones. Jones (6'0,230, Mary Hardin-Baylor) led the Barnstormers and was second among all IFL defensive players Week 8 with 12 tackles including 2.5 for loss. Jones also recorded one sack and one forced fumble.. The former First Team All-IFL LB is now third in the IFL in total tackles with 53. Jones and the Barnstormers host the Nebraska Danger in Week 9.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Justin Syrovatka (K, Sioux Falls Storm)
The Sioux Falls Storm kept their undefeated season alive in Week 8 against Cedar Rapids, taking down the Titans 46-21. K Justin Syrovatka (5'10,200 South Dakota St.) was essential in Storm's victory as he converted a season-high six field goals. Syrovatka's six field goals tied the IFL record for second-most in a single game in IFL history. The Storm kicker also converted four extra points and in total, accounted for 22 of the Storm's 46 points on the night. After his astounding performance, Syrovatka is now tied for the IFL lead in converted field goals (9) and is fourth in the IFL in scoring (61 points). The Sioux Falls Storm host the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 9.
