Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Barnstormers (4-2) look for its third consecutive win as they take on the Nebraska Danger (4-3) on Saturday, April 15, 2017. Kickoff is set for 7:05 p.m. CST at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa.
Last week, the Iowa Barnstormers narrowly escaped the Green Bay Blizzard with a 27-26 win at home last Saturday. Quarterback Travis Partridge threw for three touchdowns in the game all of which were to different receivers. The biggest score of the game happened when Partridge found receiver Brady Roland for a 31 yard touchdown pass near a minute to play, putting Iowa ahead 27-26. Defensively, All-IFL linebacker Javicz Jones had a game high 12 tackles including one sack and forcing one fumble, while lineman B.J. Butler played a crucial role in knocking down two passing attempts disrupting the Blizzard drive. The defense sealed the game for the Barnstormers when defensive back DaeJohn Love intercepted Green Bay quarterback Jarred Evans with 18 seconds left in the game.
Last week, the Nebraska Danger fell at home to the Arizona Rattlers 39-36 last Friday. Quarterback Derric Bernard scored four total touchdowns in the game with three of those coming through the air. Receiver Dello Davis hauled in two of those scores, while having a team high 51 yards receiving. On the defensive side, defensive back Trey Wafford had a game-high 10.5 tackles and linebacker Nikolas Sierra followed with 9.5 tackles.
The Barnstormers have partnered with the National Wild Turkey Federation for Country Night. Custom fan-style camouflage jerseys will be available to bid on in a silent auction on the main concourse throughout the third quarter, courtesy of the National Wild Turkey Federation. The first 500 kids at the game will also receive a piggy bank, courtesy of Wells Fargo Bank.
