Des Moines, IA – The Iowa Barnstormers (5-2) won its third consecutive game with a 48-14 win over the Nebraska Danger (4-4) Saturday night at the Wells Fargo Arena.
The Barnstormers started the game off strong when Travis Partridge found the end zone for a two yard touchdown run just two minutes into the game. On the first Nebraska drive, defensive back DaeJohn Love intercepted quarterback Derrick Bernard. The Barnstormers picked up another touchdown in the quarter when Partridge found receiver Ryan Balentine who made a diving catch for a 17 yard touchdown making the score 14-0.
Starting the second quarter, Nebraska got on the board when running back Rob Brown ran in a 10 yard touchdown run, cutting the Barnstormer lead to 14-7. With under a minute to play in the half, Iowa extended its lead when Partridge found receiver Lucas Hefty for a five yard touchdown, 21-7.
In the second half, Iowa struck first when Partridge found Balentine for their second connection of the game, 28-7. The Danger answered back with a two yard rushing touchdown from quarterback Patrick McCain, 28-14. On the following drive, Iowa called on running back Rasheed Williams who ran in a 23 yard touchdown, 34-14. Partridge threw his fourth touchdown of the game when he found running back Rasheed Williams for a four yard score, 41-14. Defensively, defensive back DaeJohn Love had a career game picking off the Danger three times, including two in the second half. Love tied the single game record for interceptions in a game with three. Linebacker Javicz Jones and defensive back Dee Maggitt each picked off the Danger as well. Iowa scored the final score of the game when Williams found the end zone for the third time, 48-14.
