Week 12 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 12 of the 2017 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Travis Partridge (QB, Iowa Barnstormers)

The Iowa Barnstormers won their sixth game in row during Week 12 by edging the Green Bay Blizzard 41-34 in dramatic fashion. With just three seconds remaining, QB Travis Partridge bulldozed  his way into the endzone to give the Iowa the victory. Partridge was the key to Iowa's offense all night long as his game-winning touchdown run was his fifth rushing touchdown of the night, tying for most in the IFL in 2017. Partridge finished his night rushing 17 times for 77 yards and five touchdowns. In addition, he also completed 9 of 23 passes for 106 yards. With his five touchdown performance, Partridge now leads the IFL in rushing touchdowns with 14. The Iowa Barnstormers face in-state rival the Cedar Rapids Titans in Week 13.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tyler Knight (LB, Sioux Falls Storm)

After faltering for the first time this season in Week 11, the Sioux Falls Storm came back in Week 12 and derailed the Spokane Empire 62-32 in a rematch of the 2016 United Bowl. Two-Time IFL Defensive Player of the Year Tyler Knight made his presence known throughout the game and helped put the game out of reach late in the fourth quarter. Midway through the fourth quarter, Knight stepped in front of Empire QB Charles Dowdell's pass and returned it five yards for a touchdown. The interception return essentially secured the game for Sioux Falls as it gave the team a 30 point lead with seven minutes remaining Knight made plays all over the field finishing his night with 10 tackles, 1.5 sacks and the interception return for a touchdown. Knight ranks fourth in the IFL in tackles with 88. Sioux Falls heads to the frozen tundra to face the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 13.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Tyrell Pearson (KR, Green Bay Blizzard)

The Green Bay Blizzard were narrowly edged by the Iowa Barnstormers 41-34 in Week 13. In a back and forth game, Blizzard KR Tyrell Pearson made plays up and down the field all night long to help give the Blizzard an advantage. Late in the first quarter, Pearson exploded past the Iowa kickoff team and returned an Iowa kickoff 57 yards for a touchdown. Pearson continued to give the Blizzard excellent field position throughout the night as he racked up 145 kick return yards on just five returns, a 29 yards per return average. Pearson ended his night just shy of 200 all-purpose yards with 198. Pearson and the Green Bay Blizzard take on the Sioux Falls Storm in Week 13.
