Green Bay, WI- The Green Bay Blizzard have announced their first player signing of the off-season. Xavier Dampeer of Auburn University has decided to continue his football career with the Blizzard.
Dampeer (6'3" 310) is an offensive lineman who finished his career last fall at Auburn. He started the first four games of the 2016 season versus Clemson, Arkansas State, Texas A&M and LSU before suffering an injury that limited his playing time for the remainder of the 2016 season.
"Xavier is a guy who has quick, strong hands and excellent feet. After suffering some setbacks at Auburn, he needs an opportunity to show scouts at the highest level that he can be consistent and that the past is just that. The best way for him to prove himself again is to have a successful season here with us. We're excited about how much he can help us and also how we can help him". Stated Blizzard Head Coach Chris Williams.
Prior to signing with Auburn, Dampeer played junior college football at Copiah-Lincoln (MS) Community College where he was a NJCAA All-Region and All-State selection. He was also rated as one of the Top 100 junior college players in the country by rivals.com. He is a native of Mendenhall, MS.
