Phoenix, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announced Friday that they have re-signed offensive lineman Glen Haisley Jr. and running back Darrell Monroe for the 2018 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Both were members of the 2017 IFL championship team.
Haisley (6-1, 310, Prairie View A&M) signed with the team last season, and was a major component in leading the league on the ground, averaging 115.3 yards per game. The Rattlers offensive line also allowed the second fewest sacks (13) in the league.
Haisley attended Prairie View A&M, where he was named to the 2015 preseason All-SWAC team as a 5th year senior.
The New Orleans, Louisiana native attended St. Augustine High School, where he played alongside the National Football League's (NFL) Arizona Cardinals safety Tyrann Mathieu, NFL's Carolina Panthers offensive guard Trai Turner, and NFL's Denver Broncos corner Lorenzo Doss. He also blocked for LSU standout running back Leonard Fournette as a Purple Knight.
Monroe (6-2, 200, Arizona Western) joined the Rattlers last season, and led the league in rushing yards per game (55.5). He was also in the top three in the league in rushing yards (721), scoring (132 points), yards per rush (5.6), and rushing touchdowns (18). His efforts earned him first team All-IFL honors.
The 6-2, 200-pounder attended Arizona Western where he earned the ACCAC Offensive Player of the Year in both seasons he played for the Matadors. Overall, he ran for 1,673 yards and 18 touchdowns.
The Caruthersville, Missouri native attended Caruthersville High School, where he rushed for 1,430 yards on 130 carries and scored 25 touchdowns his senior season.
