Green Bay, WI- The Green Bay Blizzard have announced that Wide Receiver Andre McDonald has been re-signed for the 2018 season.
McDonald was originally signed by the Blizzard after attending the last open tryout before the 2017season. Prior to joining the Blizzard, McDonald was a standout player at Hopkins High School in
Minnetonka, Minnesota. After being a finalist for the award of Mr. Football in the state of Minnesota his senior year, Andre signed with the University of Minnesota.
"Andre ran into some issues that took him off track at Minnesota, but I sincerely believe that if he didn't have those bumps along the way that he would be in the NFL right now," stated Blizzard Head
Coach Chris Williams
McDonald said,"Now that my first year being a professional is out of the way, I'm ready to step up and be a playmaker and help us get on the winning path. I understand now what I need to do and I'm
excited to get going."
"None of us should be surprised if Andre McDonald has a breakout season. He works extremely hard and he knows that it's time now for him to move into a leadership role and become a go-to guy. It's
exciting to imagine how good he can become," added Coach Williams.
McDonald played in nine games in 2017 and averaged 14.6 yards per catch and scored 6 touchdowns.
