Bloomington, IL. – Recently Eureka College Athletics announced that five of their former student athletes would be inducted into the 2017 Athletics Hall of Fame Class. Amongst those five
former students are former Bloomington Edge players Mike Minehan and Wes Schmidgall.
Both players made a mark in Eureka football in their time span there and well after. Minehan ended his career with 313 tackles which is on record as the most by a Eureka defensive back. Schmidgall joined one other player as the only players in program history to have an over 1,000-yard receiving season.
The Bloomington Edge is extremely proud of the legacy these players have left at Eureka and they are well deserving of this recognition.
"It's great to see these two players getting recognized for their outstanding accomplishments," Bloomington Edge General Manager Charles Welde commented. "In addition to Eureka College, Minehan and Schmidgall have made a huge impact on our organization. We are thrilled that they will be receiving this honor."
