Phoenix, Ariz. - The Arizona Rattlers announced Thursday that they have signed brothers Antonio Marshall and Nick Marshall for the 2018 Indoor Football League (IFL) season. Both Antonio and Nick are defensive backs.
Nick Marshall (6-2, 200, Auburn) will be entering his first season in the IFL with the Rattlers. He is a versatile athlete who led the Auburn Tigers as their quarterback to the BCS National Championship against Florida State in the 2013 season, and transitioned to defensive back in the National Football League (NFL).
In 2015 and 2016, Nick played a significant role on the NFL Jacksonville Jaguars special teams. He also earned a starting role at the end of the 2015 season. He also spent time with the NFL's New York Jets in 2016.
Nick attended Auburn University, where he played quarterback for the Tigers, leading them to an SEC Championship and to compete in the 2014 BCS National Championship game. He was only the third player in Auburn history to throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000.
Nick also attended Wilcox County High School and was named the Georgia Sports Writers Association Class A Offensive Player of the Year in 2010.
Antonio Marshall (6-0, 190, Indiana) played last season for the Colorado Crush. While there, he amassed 61.5 tackles, 3 for a loss, six pass breakups, two interceptions, a forced fumble, and a blocked kick.
Antonio attended Indiana University where in 2012, he had 38 total tackles, 2.5 for a loss, three passes defended, and two interceptions. Prior to Indiana, Antonio played at Georgia Military College, where he had 38 tackles, four pass breakups, and two interceptions, both were returned for touchdowns.
The Pitts, Georgia native attended Wilcox County High School where he was selected All-State. Antonio also played basketball.
