IFL Announces 2018 Schedule

IFL Announces 2018 Schedule

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce its 2018 regular season schedule. The 17-week, 56-game schedule kicks off on Friday, February 23 and concludes on Saturday, June 16.

The upcoming 2018 season will be special for the IFL as it marks the league's 10th season of play.  The IFL enthusiastically celebrates ten seasons of indoor football tradition and affordable, family-fun entertainment.  A commemorative 10th Anniversary logo will be incorporated into all league and team materials, including all official IFL game balls.

"We are very proud of the history, heritage and passion that has developed within the IFL over the past 10 seasons," said IFL Commissioner Michael Allshouse. "The league is appreciative to all of teams, communities, players, coaches, and most importantly, the fans, that have allowed the IFL to thrive for a decade."

Two new members join the IFL for its tenth anniversary. The Bloomington Edge return to the IFL after a five-season absence and their presence is also joined by the West Michigan Ironmen. Together, along with six incumbents; Arizona Rattlers, Cedar Rapids Titans, Green Bay Blizzard, Iowa Barnstormers, Nebraska Danger, Sioux Falls Storm, eight teams will battle for the 2018 United Bowl crown.

Each IFL team will play a fourteen (14) game schedule over seventeen (17) weeks. The teams will have three (3) bye weeks, which will occur sporadically over the course of the season. The 2018 schedule is the most balanced in league history, featuring each team playing the other seven teams in the league twice.

The 2018 season will also mark the first time in IFL history where all eight teams will belong in the same division. The top four teams will qualify for the opening round of playoffs to be held during the weekend of June 22nd. The #1 seed will host the #4 seed and the #2 seed will host the #3 seed in the first round of the playoffs.  The United Bowl will be hosted by the advancing team with the best record and will be played during the weekend of July 6th.

The regular season officially kicks off on Friday, February 23rd with a matchup of two 2017 IFL playoff teams when the Nebraska Danger host the Iowa Barnstormers.  Opening Weekend also features a rematch of the 2017 United Bowl with the defending champion, Arizona Rattlers, taking on the Sioux Falls Storm.
