Barnstormers Sign Wide Receiver

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have signed wide receiver Chaz Barnes to the 2018 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.

Barnes (6-3, 220, Lindsey Wilson College) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his rookie season with the Indoor Football League (IFL). Collegiately, Barnes spent four years with Lindsey Wilson College. Barnes had a standout season his freshman year appearing in all 10 games with the Blue Raiders and leading the team in receptions (33), receiving yards (559), and touchdowns (8) earning All Mid-South Conference First Team Honors. During his sophomore and junior seasons combined, Barnes appeared in 21 games collecting 49 receptions for 809 yards and four touchdowns. Barnes closed out his collegiate career appearing in 13 games and collecting 47 receptions for 702 yards and seven touchdowns during his senior season.

Barnes appeared on the Green Bay Blizzard roster during Training Camp for the 2017 season. A minor injury prevented him from making the final roster.

"Chaz will bring a lot of talent to an already talented group of receivers," said Coach Wooten. "I hope to see Chaz come in to camp and show his physical and very athletic nature. I want to see his speed to catch the deep ball and catch the short ball and break tackles."
