Week 15 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 15 of the 2018 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jake Medlock (QB, Cedar Rapids Titans)

The Cedar Rapids Titans moved back into the win column in Week 15 after knocking off the Nebraska Danger 33-26. Cedar Rapids and the IFL's top ranked pass offense, led by QB Jake Medlock, was firing on all cylinders vs. the Danger. Medlock (6'3, Florida International Univ.) passed for an IFL season-high 249 yards and passed for five touchdowns in the victory. Medlock was not only explosive but was efficient as well as he completed almost 85 percent of his passes (22/26). With two weeks remaining in the season, Medlock leads the IFL in passing yards (2,177) and passing touchdowns (41). Medlock and the Cedar Rapids Titans travel to face the Green Bay Blizzard in Week 16.

Honorable Mention: Javon Bell (WR, Cedar Rapids Titans), Brady Roland (WR, Iowa Barnstormers), Drew Powell (QB, Iowa Barnstormers), Lorenzo Brown Jr. (QB, Sioux Falls Storm)

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jourdan Wickliffe (DB, Iowa Barnstormers)

The Iowa Barnstormers overtook the Arizona Rattlers 41-38 in Week 15 and now sit atop the IFL standings with a 10-2 record. Iowa's top-ranked defense, led by DB Jourdan Wickliffe, clamped down on Arizona's top scoring offense. Late in the fourth quarter with the Rattlers attempting to mount a comeback, Wickliffe (6'1, Eastern Illinois Univ.) broke up a Rattlers' pass on fourth down and turned the ball over on downs. The fourth down breakup proved pivotal as it effectively ended Arizona's attempt at a comeback. In addition to his pass breakup, Wickliffe also led the Barnstormers with seven tackles. Week 16 will offer no rest for Wickliffe and the Barnstormers as the team travels to face the Sioux Falls Storm.

Honorable Mention: Dillon Winfrey (DB, Arizona Rattlers), Raheem Bramwell (DB, Cedar Rapids Titans), Nathan Holley (DB, Nebraska Danger), Owen Williams (DL, Sioux Falls Storm)

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Damond Powell (KR, Sioux Falls Storm)

With the help of an exceptionally strong third quarter, the Sioux Falls Storm squashed the Green Bay Blizzard 60-21 in Week 15. The Storm's exploded on offense in part to the contributions of new WR/KR Damond Powell. In his first game as a member of the Storm, Powell (5'11, Univ. of Iowa) showed the same explosiveness that made him a 2017 First Team All-IFL WR selection. On the opening kickoff of the second half, Powell burst through the Blizzard special teams unit and returned the opening kickoff 57 yards for a touchdown. Later in the third quarter, Powell snagged a 28-yard touchdown pass from QB Lorenzo Brown. Powell finished the game with two kickoff returns for 78 yards and one touchdown. He also added four receptions for 47 yards and touchdown. Powell and the Sioux Falls Storm host the Iowa Barnstormers in Week 16.
