Week 17 Players of the Week Announced

The Indoor Football League (IFL) is proud to announce the Vidswap.com Players of the Week for Week 17 of the 2018 IFL season.

OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jamal Tyler (RB, Iowa Barnstormers)

The Iowa Barnstormers clinched the #1 seed in the playoffs with a 54-21 win over the Cedar Rapids Titans.  The win earned the team home field advantage during the postseason.  Iowa did most of their damage on the ground against Cedar Rapids, rushing for over 163 yards as a team.  Pacing the attack was RB Jamal Tyler (5'10, 185lbs, Pittsburg State).  The first year rookie carried the ball 12 times for 79 yards and 2 TDs.  The Barnstormers host the #4 seed Nebraska Danger on Friday night in the first round of the playoffs.  The teams split their 2018 regular season series 1-1.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Trey Wafford (DB, Sioux Falls Storm)

The Sioux Falls Storm capped another impressive regular season campaign with a thrilling 69-61 triple overtime victory against the Green Bay Blizzard.  In a high scoring affair, it was a defensive play that proved to be the deciding factor as Storm DB Trey Wafford (5'11, 200lbs, Middle Tennessee State) intercepted a Green Bay Blizzard pass to seal the win in the third frame of overtime.  Wafford finished the game with 5 tackles and 3 interceptions.  The Storm finish the regular season with a record of 11-3, good for a three-way tie for first place with the Iowa Barnstormers and Arizona Rattlers.  Through the league's tiebreaker process, Sioux Falls was awarded the #3 seed in the playoffs and will face the #2 seed Arizona Rattlers in round one.

SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Jamal Miles (KR, Arizona Rattlers)

The Arizona Rattlers clinched the #2 seed during the playoffs with a 59-23 road victory over the Nebraska Danger.  In a mostly one sided contest, the Rattlers broke away in the second quarter, courtesy of a special teams touchdown.  Pinned deep in their own zone, Nebraska attempted a long field goal try.  Arizona returner Jamal Miles (5'10, 180lbs, Arizona State) fielded the short kick, and returned it 58 yards for a score.  Via the tiebreaker system, Arizona will host the #3 Sioux Falls Storm on Saturday night in first round playoff action.  The Rattlers defeated the Storm in both regular season matchups, 39-33 in Week One and 48-40 in Week 8.
