Barnstormers Add Veteran Receiver

DES MOINES – The Iowa Barnstormers have signed veteran wide receiver Samuel Charles to the 2019 roster, Head Coach Dixie Wooten announced today.

Charles (6-3, 210, Edward Waters College) joins the Iowa Barnstormers for his first season with the team. Charles first joined the Indoor Football League (IFL) in 2014 with the Wyoming Calvary. He continued his indoor career by joining the Spokane Shock in the Arena Football League (AFL) at the end of the 2014 season and remained with the team through 2015. Charles stayed in Spokane and returned to the IFL with the Empire in 2016. Most recently, Charles was a member of the Jacksonville Sharks of the National Arena League (NAL).

Collegiately, Charles played four years at Edward Waters College. During his senior season, Charles earned All Independent NAIA 2nd Team Honors.

"Samuel is an explosive player. He can score from anywhere on the field," said Coach Wooten. "Being a vet, he will bring a great understanding of the game. He also has size, speed, and a tough attitude."
