Quad City Steamwheelers (4-4) @ Green Bay Blizzard (7-2)

Spread: -10.5 (GB)
O/U: 90.5
mL: N/A

Kicking off Week 12, the Quad City Steamwheelers take on the Green Bay Blizzard in their second meeting of the season. Green Bay was victorious the first time, winning by the narrow margin of 32-24. This week, the Blizzard are favored by 10.5 points as Green Bay looks to win their fourth game in a row.

As double-digit favorites at home in this Week Four rematch, the Blizzard aim to continue their three-game winning streak while claiming a 2-0 series lead against the Steamwheelers. Green Bay’s offense has been on an upward trend in their last three appearances, averaging nearly 55 points per game. Defensively, they’re the least-scored-on team in the league, allowing an average of just 34.6 points per game while also leading the league in sacks (18). With a 10.5-point spread in favor of Green Bay, the Blizzard look to ring the victory bell for a fourth straight week.

As road underdogs, the Steamwheelers enter the week following back-to-back wins. Offensively, Quad City has been on a hot streak, scoring at least 50 points in their last five matchups. However, defensively, the Steamwheelers allow 49 points per game to opponents, ranking them as one of the most scored-on defenses in the league. With hopes of upsetting one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, the Steamwheelers’ recent streak of 50-point performances could give Green Bay’s defense trouble.

Oddsmakers have the over-under line set at 90.5 points, as both teams combine for an average of 92.3 points per game. While these two teams average a combined score higher than the over-under, Green Bay’s defensive play will likely determine the outcome.

Arizona Rattlers (5-4) @ Jacksonville Sharks (1-7)

Spread: -12 (ARI)
O/U: 92.5
mL: N/A
In their second matchup of the season, the Arizona Rattlers face off against the Jacksonville Sharks. Arizona holds a 1-0 series lead over Jacksonville, as the oddsmakers expect the Rattlers to win both meetings. Following a narrow victory last week, Vegas favors the Rattlers by 12 points against Jacksonville, the largest spread of the week.

Coming into this week off a one-possession win against the winless Gladiators last week, the Rattlers were still able to come away with the victory after scoring over 50 points for their second game in a row. Through nine games, the Rattlers sport a top-five offense in scoring, averaging 47.7 points per game. Defensively, Arizona gives up nearly as many points, allowing 46.9 points to opposing teams on average. To come away with their second win against Jacksonville on the season, Arizona looks to cover the spread on the road.

Entering Week 12 with a single win, the Sharks look to even their series with Arizona following an upset on Friday night. Through their first eight games, the Sharks have scored the least points per game, averaging 33.8 points on average. However, in their last three games, that point total has gone up, as they’ve averaged just over 40 points per game in that span. Defensively, they allow the second-most points per game at 49.1 points allowed on average. Through their last three games, that number increased to 54.7 points per game, which would rank as the most-scored-on defense in the league. With a Week 11 bye for Jacksonville, they look to enter this week well-rested and prepared to upset Arizona on Friday night.

The over-under for this game was set at 92.5 by the oddsmakers, as these two teams combine for an average of 81.5 points offensively on average. With both teams seeing an uptick in offensive production, the over is an achievable line if both teams continue their upward trend.

Iowa Barnstormers (2-7) @ Sioux Falls Storm (2-6)

Spread: -6.5 (SF)
O/U: 87.5
mL: -245 (SF)

Kicking off the ensuing slate of games on Saturday evening, the Iowa Barnstormers face off against the Sioux Falls Storm in their first meeting of the season. Coming off a win in their last game, Sioux Falls is favored by six-and-a-half points.

Sioux Falls went into their Week 11 bye off a win, giving them extra rest ahead of their Week 12 matchup against the Barnstormers. Scoring an average of 41.6 points per game, the Storm have surpassed that point total in their last three games, averaging just under 50 points in that span. Defensively, the Storm have allowed an average of 46.3 points per game through eight games. With just over a touchdown spread favoring Sioux Falls, the Storm must overcome a Barnstormers team that’s scored over 40 points in four straight games.

Coming into the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center, the Barnstormers look to upset Sioux Falls in their first matchup this year. The Barnstormers enter this week having lost two in a row, dropping games to Quad City and Green Bay. Though the season started slow offensively for Iowa, in their last four games, they’ve averaged a score of 48 points. However, the Barnstormers have allowed just under 50 points per game on average in that same span. To come away with an upset this week, Iowa’s defense must stop a Storm offense that’s been humming recently.

The over-under line for this game is 87.5 points, which comes in as the second-lowest line of the week. Both teams combine for an average of 81.2 points per game, but with both teams’ recent uptick in offensive production, the 87.5 line should be achievable.

Massachusetts Pirates (6-3) @ Frisco Fighters (7-2)

Spread: -9 (FRI)
O/U: 86.5
mL: -340 (FRI)

Continuing the Saturday action, the Massachusetts Pirates take on the Frisco Fighters in a matchup with future seeding implications. Frisco is favored by nine points in this matchup as they look to build off last week’s victory.

Following a narrow victory against the Strike Force a week ago, the Fighters look to make it two straight with a win against Massachusetts. Through nine games, Frisco has a top-three scoring offense in the league, averaging 50.9 points per game. Defensively, they’re allowing just 43.4 points to opponents, giving them a winning margin of about seven points each week. With the top spot in the Eastern Conference on the line for Frisco, the Fighters look to come away with the victory at home in Week 12.

Coming into hostile territory, Massachusetts comes into Week 12 following their lowest-scoring win of the season. Injuries have played a big part in the Pirates’ recent downward trend offensively, as they average fewer than 40 points per game through nine games. The saving grace for their recent offensive woes is that the Pirates have one of the top defensive units in the league. Through nine games, the Pirates allow the second-least points in the league with 36.6 points on average while holding teams to the lowest yard total on average with just 186.4 yards. To come away with the upset on Saturday, the Pirates must find a way to score on Frisco while replicating a defensive performance similar to last week, holding Tulsa to 22 points.

In the lowest over-under line of the week, the line sits at 86.5 points. Both teams combine for 90.5 points on average, but with Massachusetts’ lack of offensive firepower recently, the lower total line makes sense.

San Diego Strike Force (5-4) @ Tulsa Oilers (3-6)

Spread: -8 (SD)
O/U: 89.5
mL: -305 (SD)

As both teams enter Saturday night following a loss, both sides hope to bounce back in Week 12. However, based on San Diego’s resume thus far, the oddsmakers favor the Strike Force in this matchup by eight points.

The Strike Force enters this week off after falling to Frisco in a narrow defeat. San Diego’s offense still ranks top-four, averaging just under 50 points per game. Through nine games, the Strike Force allows just 44 points per game to opponents while leading the league in interceptions (15) and interceptions returned for a touchdown (3). Against an Oilers offense that struggles to put points on the board, San Diego looks to win this game by more than a touchdown.

Following four losses in a row, the Oilers have struggled on both sides of the ball. Offensively, Tulsa averages 39.4 points per game, ranking them among the bottom three of the league. On defense, the Oilers aren’t scored on as much as most teams, but they allow the third-most yards to opposing offenses with 241.1 yards per game. To overcome a strong San Diego team, both sides of the ball must hunker down in front of a home crowd.

Oddsmakers set the over-under line for this matchup at 89.5 points, making this an over that requires both teams to score just about their yearly average. Both teams combine for 89 points, so an extra point from one side would send this game over.

Northern Arizona Wranglers (6-3) @ Vegas Knight Hawks (7-1)

Spread: -10.5 (VEG)
O/U: 100.5
mL: N/A

Continuing the Saturday night slate, the Northern Arizona Wranglers face off against a well-rested Vegas Knight Hawks team who return to action after a Week 11 bye. The Knight Hawks are favored by 10.5 points in this matchup as oddsmakers expect Vegas to join the Panthers at the top of the Western Conference.

Vegas returns to action following a bye week after their overtime loss to Tucson in Week 10. Before that loss, Vegas was on a seven-game winning streak. After a week to prepare for their bounce-back attempt against Northern Arizona, the Knight Hawks look to showcase a winning effort to their home crowd Saturday night. Through eight games, Vegas has the highest-scoring offense in the league, averaging 54.1 points per game. With a top-scoring offense, Vegas also sports a top-five defense in the league, allowing just 42.5 points per game. To come away with the win this week, Vegas must put Week 10’s loss behind them and trek forward.

As double-digit road underdogs, the Wranglers are looking to come away with the upset to continue rising in the Western Conference. Northern Arizona trails Vegas by one spot in the conference standings, as this upset would be significant once the postseason comes. Offensively, the Wranglers score 45.9 points per game, ranking them in the middle of the pack statistically. On Defense, Northern Arizona ranks in the top half of teams, allowing an average of 43.4 points per game. This week will be one of the biggest challenges for Northern Arizona thus far as they look to hand Vegas their second upset in a row.

As the highest over-under of the week, the oddsmakers set the line at 100.5 points. Both teams combine for an average of exactly 100 points, making this an achievable over for both teams to meet.

Duke City Gladiators (0-8) @ Tucson Sugar Skulls (2-6)

Spread: -7 (TUC)
O/U: 91.5
mL: -270 (TUC)

Wrapping up Week 12, the Duke City Gladiators have an uphill battle as they look to come away with their first win of the season. If the oddsmakers predicted the outcome of this game correctly, Duke City will have to wait another week for their first win. In this Week 12 matchup between Duke City and Tucson, the Sugar Skulls are favored by seven points.
Following a high-scoring loss last week to Northern Arizona, the Sugar Skulls look to bounce back this week against the winless Gladiators. Through their first eight games, Tucson’s offense scores an average of 42.3 points per game, ranking them in the bottom half of the league statistically. On defense, the Sugar Skulls allow 49 points per game on average, ranking them as the third-most scored-on defense in the league. With Mylik Mitchell back running the Sugar Skulls offense, that unit must take advantage of a porous Duke City defense to come away with the win.

Coming into this week after eight straight losses, the Gladiators look to flip the script on Saturday night. However, through their first eight games, Duke City ranks second-to-last in points scored, averaging 37.4 points per game. Defensively, the Gladiators allow almost 10 more points, averaging an allowed score of 47.1 points per game. With Joseph Mancuso having another week to gain chemistry with his offense, Duke City aims for an upset on the road this week.

The oddsmakers set the over-under line at 91.5 points in this matchup, as both teams combine for an average of 79.7 points. With both offenses trending upwards due to new quarterback play the last couple of weeks, there’s a chance this over can be achieved.
