Blizzard Add Offensive Lineman

Offensive lineman Vincent Calhoun, who started 13 games in two seasons with the Minnesota Gophers of the rugged Big Ten Conference, has signed with the Green Bay Blizzard, head coach and general manager Corey Roberson announced on Wednesday.

Calhoun, 6-4 and 335 pounds, played guard at Minnesota, helping the Gophers rack up 4,576 rushing yards in his two seasons there. One of his highlights came when, starting at right guard against Nebraska his senior year, Calhoun helped pave the way for a whopping 409 rushing yards and six touchdowns.

Prior to signing with Minnesota, Calhoun, a native of Georgia, starred at Southwest Mississippi Community College, where he earned second-team All-America honors after his sophomore season.

"Vincent gives us really good size up front, and his extensive experience in the Big Ten means that he has blocked some of the elite collegiate defensive linemen and linebackers in the country," said Roberson. "He has also played in multiple big games against big-time programs, in stadiums with more than 80,000 people, so he brings valuable experience to our program."

Calhoun is the third offensive lineman signed so far for the 2019 season. Roberson will build a roster of up to 40 players prior to training camp, which begins in February. That roster will be reduced to 25 players for the season opener.
