IFL ANNOUNCES WEEK ELEVEN PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the Players of the Week for week eleven of the 2023 XV season. Frisco Quarterback, TJ Edwards, is the Offensive Player of the Week. Arizona Defensive Lineman, Cecil Cherry, earns Defensive Player of the Week. Special Teams Player of the Week goes to Mike Green Jr., Returner for the Green Bay Blizzard.

TJ Edwards – OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

When the team you lead was undefeated through nine weeks and still has the best record in the league, you are bound to be the Player of the Week at some point. TJ Edwards has been one of the best players in the league all season. Dangerous through the air and possibly even more lethal on the ground, he is a nightmare to defend. Last week was yet another reminder. Frisco put up 70 points in their win over San Diego. As usual, TJ was the star of the show. He ended the night going 10/14 for 191 yards and three touchdowns through the air. On the ground he added 78 yards and five touchdowns. That’s eight touchdowns in one game.

Cecil Cherry – DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Arizona is hot. After starting the season with a litany of injuries, the Rattlers are getting healthy and have been dominating. Last week, a game that featured two hot teams in Arizona and Vegas, both 4-4 in the Western Conference, ended as a 24-point blowout. Arizona is firing in all phases. The defense stifled the potent Vegas attack holding them to 39 points and just 12 in the second half. D-lineman, Cecil Cherry played a big role. He was disruptive in the Knight Hawks backfield all night. Cecil accumulated six tackles, three tackles for loss and two sacks in the contest.

Mike Green Jr.  – SPECIAL TEAMS PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Green Bay has been playing some great football. They have seen some major injuries, including their young star quarterback. They climbed back up to .500 multiple times and many of their defeats have been tight losses to good teams. Like last week, the Blizzard fell to Quad City 63-56. Green Bay kick returner, Mike Green Jr., did his part in keeping this game close. Green was electric, compiling 176 return yards. After going down 28-14 in the second quarter, Green took the kickoff back 55 yards for a touchdown to keep the Blizzard within one score.

The season rolls on in week 12, featuring five games on Saturday and one on Sunday. Tucson kicks off the weekend action in Vegas at 2:05 p.m. CT on Saturday. For the full schedule and how to watch, go to www.GoIFL.com.
