IFL ANNOUNCES 2023 ALL-IFL FIRST TEAM DEFENSE

The Indoor Football League is pleased to announce the First Team All-IFL Defense.  

Defensive Line - Chris Terrell, Arizona Rattlers 

Terrell played in all 16 regular season games for Arizona and was a one-man wrecking crew. He registered seven sacks and 14.5 total tackles for loss. 

Defensive Line - Charles Williams, Frisco Fighters 

Williams was a key part of the Frisco Fighters No. 1 seed team. In just 13 games, he tallied 12 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks. 

Defensive Line - Tramond Lofton, Northern Arizona Wranglers 

Lofton led the way for the Wrangler defense in 2023. He led the league in both sacks (8) and tackles for loss (24).

Linebacker - Jordan Jones, Tulsa Oilers 

Jones proved himself to be one of the best defenders in the league. He had a league leading 113 tackles and also forced two fumbles. 

Linebacker/Defensive Back - Davontae Merriweather, Arizona Rattlers 

Merriweather is the second of three Rattlers to make first team All-IFL defense. He had 79 tackles in 16 games this season, good for fifth in the league. 

Defensive Back - Kordell Jackson, Frisco Fighters 

Jackson is the second member of the Fighters to be named First Team defense. He led the league with 28 total passes defended, including six interceptions. Of those six interceptions, three were returned for touchdowns, which was tied for first in the league. 

Defensive Back - Darreon Jackson, Quad City Steamwheelers 

Jackson had a career year in 2023 for Quad City and was a big part of why the Steamwheelers grabbed a spot in the playoffs. He had three touchdowns off of his league leading eight interceptions. His three touchdowns were tied for the most defensive touchdowns in the league off of interceptions. 

Defensive Back - Dillion Winfrey, Arizona Rattlers 

Winfrey caps off the first team All-IFL defense as the third Rattler on the list. Winfrey had 19 pass breakups, including a league high eight interceptions. Winfrey averaged 1.2 pass breakups per game in 2023 and had the third most breakups in the league.
