THE IFL ANNOUNCES 2023 TEAM AWARDS

The Indoor Football League is proud to announce the 2023 team awards. While all of the teams in the IFL are well deserving of many of these accolades, this group was voted by their peers to be considered the best among the incredible franchises in the IFL.  

Franchise of the Year: Green Bay Blizzard

This award is given to the best overall team during the 2023 season. Factors to consider are attendance, sales, public relations, marketing, efforts to improve the IFL, performance on the field, community involvement, participation on league matters, and overall representation of the IFL.

Executive of the Year:  Andy Scurto & Taylor Hall – Tulsa Oilers

This award is given to the IFL Team Owner, General Manager, or Front Office Employee that performed the best during the 2023 season. Factors to consider are management, team guidance, participation in league matters, sales, leadership, efforts to improve the IFL, and overall representation of their respective team and the IFL. Scurto and Hall were enormously successful in bringing Tulsa Oilers Football to life and although the results didn’t come on the field, they had success in bringing a pro football franchise to the city of Tulsa.

John Pettit Person of the Year:  Kathy Treankler – Green Bay Blizzard

This award goes to the individual who shows dedication and exemplary service to their team as well as their community. This award will be given to a caring individual who always has the best interests of their team, fan base, community, and the Indoor Football League in mind. 

Fan Base Champions: Arizona Rattlers

This award is given to the team whose fans showed the most enthusiasm, character, energy, and overall appreciation for their team. Once again, the loyalty of the Rattlers fanbase was on display in 2023. During the regular season alone, the Rattlers had a total attendance of over 79,000 fans.

Best Game Operations: Arizona Rattlers

This award is given to the team that did the best job with game presentation including half-time shows, giveaways, music, on-field promotions, etc.

Best Cheer / Dance Team: Arizona Rattlers

This award is given to the team with the most talented and attractive cheer/dance team.

Factors to consider are uniforms, class, routines, and crowd interaction.

Best Community Relations: Green Bay Blizzard

This award is given to the team that exemplified outstanding service and dedication to their surrounding community.

Best Hospitality: Vegas Knight Hawks

This award is given to the team the provided the best overall experience for the visiting team while on the road. Host hotel, pre/post-game meal, and other accommodations are considered.

Best Social Media: Quad City Steamwheelers

This award is given to the team with the best social media presence. Content design, quantity, creativity, and fan interaction are considered.

Best Mascot: Northern Arizona Wranglers

This award is given to the Team with the most creative, energetic, and talented mascot. Factors considered are costume, routine, crowd interaction, and name. The Northern Arizona Wranglers’ mascot, “Whiskie,” was introduced in 2021 and has become a staple at Northern Arizona home games since he debuted.

Best Game Day Broadcast: Arizona Rattlers

This award is given to the team with the best overall broadcast and game presentation via our YouTube online steaming platform. Announcers, camera angles, graphics, and overall presentation are considered.
