On the Saturday, May 11, edition of ESPN SportsCenter Top 10, Quad City Steamwheelers receiver Jordan Vesey topped SportsCenter Top 10 with a touchdown grab that took him and the defender over the boards and onto the concrete. With 20 seconds left in the half, down a touchdown, quarterback Mike Irwin connected with Vesey on the 14-yard touchdown pass, earning them the No. 1 play in sports on Friday. Competing with the NBA and NHL playoffs, the Indoor Football League rises to the top. Quad City would go on to win 56-49.
The IFL has now made SportsCenter Top 10 four times this year, showcasing how action-packed each matchup can be. Vesey joins Thomas Owens, Harry Ballard, and Jordan Kress as IFL players to make the Top 10, with three of four players topping their respective lists.
Not only did Vesey’s over the boards catch land him the No. 1 top play on SportsCenter, but it also caught the attention of ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt in his segment: Best Thing I Saw Today.
With the IFL landing on ESPN as frequently as they have, which player is next?
